Horror in Ikolomani: Father Attacks Children in Domestic Dispute, One Dies

A deep sense of grief and disbelief has gripped Mukoyani village in Kakamega County after a tragic incident unfolded within a family—an event that has left residents searching for answers.

According to reports, a middle-aged man identified as Shimenga is alleged to have attacked his own children during a domestic dispute at their home in the Imabusi area of Ikolomani.

What began as a disagreement is said to have escalated into a violent situation, leaving three children seriously affected. One of the children died at the scene, while two others were rushed to hospital in critical condition, fighting for their lives.

The news spread quickly through the village, drawing neighbors and community members to the scene—many unable to comprehend how such a tragedy could occur within a home.

Suspect in Custody

Authorities later intervened and took the suspect into custody. However, in the chaos that followed, he was reportedly attacked by members of the public and sustained injuries. He is currently receiving medical attention under police watch.
