About the Program

Real Experience. Real Stories. Real Growth.

The Vihiga Times Young Journalists Program is an opportunity for passionate young people to gain real-world experience in journalism and digital media.

Participants receive practical training while contributing to a growing community news platform. This program helps aspiring journalists improve their writing, reporting, research, interviewing, and digital publishing skills.

Every approved article is published under the contributor's own name, allowing participants to begin building a professional journalism portfolio.

This is NOT employment and it is not a salaried position. It is a learning and experience-building program designed to help young journalists develop practical skills while contributing to Vihiga Times.

As Vihiga Times continues to grow, contributors will also have opportunities to grow with the platform. Future revenue-sharing opportunities may become available if and when the platform becomes financially sustainable.
